Niagara Canyon Falls
Kayaking The Falls Relax - Just Kidding
Beautiful Waterfall it's 156 feet straight down and you can stand almost right under it. The pool at the base is only about 20 ft wide. VERY COOL.
The Secret Tunnel Takes you under the highway from the parking area. this waterfall is less than a 3 minute walk from the highway.
Note: The reason much of the riverbed & tunnel are dry is: the river flows underground mostly in aquifers, deep underground, resulting in a dry riverbed except during the winter rains, the tunnel was created to take the overflow. So the tunnel is dry for walking most of the time.
the Pool just under the falls looking downstream.
This is the Pool above the falls. I hiked up 156 feet to take this photo The water leaving this pool to your left has a surprise coming.
This was attached to a tree, I didn't know Johnny worked on the railway, Only drove 1 spike and got a sign, now that's cool.
Natures Organic Logging.
As I hiked higher above the canyon I came to this ? What is it ? Hidden deep in the forest. Could this be a UFO refueling site ? a CIA training camp ?
Oh ! a Railway Trestle.
Looks Ok under here.

I met a local fella & his young son, they suggested I hike up to this Tressel, said it's interesting and not too far.... Hmmmm
Like many used car sales people he neglected to mention some details that were of value to my decision.
He forgot to mention the elevation gain of about 450 feet, along a dusty narrow very steep switchback trail Oh, and the bridge was out, so a little detour through a Mosquito infested swamp up to my shoulders in mud. . . complete with malaria and poison reptiles. Funny I didn't see Mic Dundee Good Day Mate !

Meanwhile back in the forest. Plenty of these happy little Mushrooms.
This is the second falls here Goldstream Falls it's about 40 feet high. Rather difficult to photograph the sun was hitting the white water as it comes over the falls making it very contrasted. the canyon allows very little access.
I zoomed this, between the giant Fir trees as I climbed up out of the canyon.
Enjoy !
Doc~
NOTE * I met a fellow from Chicago, Bruce, he was also photographing this area he may send some of his photos too.
