Wild Life Estuary

This Enchanting estuary is just west of Pitt Lake,
water travel only, no power boats.

We visited this last, in June 2001

This trip leasurly commenced at 5:30 am,
we wanted to capture photos
with the shadows of the morning light.

Driving to the lake,
we were greeted by this heard of
runaway cows or bulls, or whatever,
( they all had big pointed horns )
we moved very slowly
I didn't want one of those horns embeded in my rad.

The shadows of first light.

This abandoned pile greeted us,
all decked out in a beautiful spring hat
complete with a Humming Birds nest.

Sun rising above Golden Ears Mountains,
welcoming us to this very special place.

Our    First    Greeter

"Bucky Beaver"

Did not seem to suprized to see us.

He slapped his tail on the water,
dove under, and came right up to visit.
seems his social curiosity out weighed his sense of duty

As we look ahead, to the opening of the estuary

The first of many small sandy beaches

A Loon says good morning.

The Ghostly remains of old docks and this erie dilapidated railing
of a fine hotel...
once supported the famous Wegion Brothel.
( as some of us remember well ! )

 Witches Grass

Homeward bound, leaving this place
of peace & tranquility.
From one paradice to the next.

Steaming into Departure Bay, Jessie island as we pass.

We hope you enjoyed this peek into the past
a place where many of you may never see in person
we share this experiance with you all.
and hope this brings joy into your day.
